Friday, January 6, 2012 : New Year, New Meeting Jahcobi
Happy New Year, and welcome to Prophecy, 2012.

We've got a guild meeting at the end of raid time on 1/12/12, mostly to give folks a chance to talk about how we're doing as a guild and to check in with people. That's 11pm server, so hopefully it'll be short.

Sunday, December 25, 2011 : Merry Christmas! Jahcobi
In Australia, Christmas is hot. Last year at this time, we were chilling our heals (sic) on Arthas' living room rug and knocking over his knicknacks.

It's been a helluva hot year.

One of the things that we need to remember is that we're here to have fun and kill stuff while doing it. That is part of the spirit of Prophecy.

But like the Christmas season is supposed to be about good tidings, peace on Earth, and goodwill towards all, we should take a moment to remember that there's a life outside the game, and when we come together as a group, we're a team. That not everyone may be at 110 percent, or 101 percent, or even 100 percent. Sometimes folks come to raiding for the company of friends who respect 'em for the people they are, not for the numbers they put out that day. We've had a few incidents where people got hot as Firelands at each other -- and didn't need to be.

I'd like to see us move past that in the coming year.

We want the same thing when it comes to raiding -- the gift of a chance at better loot and better gear. But the dividing line comes when you ask yourself, 'which is more important? Loot from bosses with strangers, or time spent with folks we want to get it with?' Sometimes we get both together. Sometimes we don't. It's like fishing.

Did I mention I dislike fishing? I used to bring a book in the canoe and instead of fishing, I'd just sit and read. My parents brought me along for the company, and the vicarious fun of watching my sister and brother haul in fish. And my parents didn't fish much at all - they did it for us, all the paddling and carrying the canoe, the investment in camping equipment and supplies... they wanted us to see the Great Outdoors.

I hang around all of you because I want to raid with you regardless of how many bosses we get down, or don't get down. And I always do my best to keep that in mind when I come to raid.

Remember the lesson of 'peace on Earth and goodwill towards all' today, and hopefully bring it with you the next time we raid together. We may not be blood family, but we are a good group of folks with common cause.

Merry Christmas to all, and be safe. Yer all amazing folks, and to me, you are all a gift of friendship that keeps on giving. Even if some of you can be a little hot to handle at times, and some of you are strange knicknacks that I have no idea what to do with.

Friday, December 16, 2011 : Starting 12/22: LFR Thursdays Jahcobi
Starting with next Thursday's raid, we'll be doing the LFR runs (both of them) as a guild. Please join us then in our usual time and place.

New schedule through the end of the year will be:
Thursday: LFR first, Morchok if we have time left
Friday: Dragon Soul til break, swap to Flan if we roadblock
Saturdays: (No official raids, will see who's around on Christmas Eve/New Year's Eve)

Also: Yor'sohj/25 down! We came, we saw, we took his candy. Now we can say we're 2/8, right Synest?

Thursday, December 15, 2011 : LFR Thursdays, anyone? Jahcobi
Some folks have approached the officers about the possibility of making an official raid day for LFR runs, especially given the holiday season coming in like Arthas on a horse.

We'll be discussing this hopefully during raid tonight (Thursday) about making our present schedule going forward (not this week but next week):

Thursday: LFR night (roll on items, no DKP cost)
Friday: Dragon Soul Normal (since we're at 2/8 right now)
Saturday: (2x10), Dragon Soul Continued/Flan for folks who still need/want it
Sunday (Day): Potpourri
